Writers & Poets: Women of the Rio Grande Valley & Their Works

UTRGV Special Collections & Archives recognizes the historical contributions and achievements of the women of the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. This exhibit focuses on women writers and poets and highlights their works.

We examine the early societal challenges women overcame to contribute to American literature, spotlights the historical work of the Valley By-Liners, honors the foundational contributions of Chicana writers, and calls attention to diversity in publishing, especially among children's authors.
