Writers & Poets: Women of the Rio Grande Valley & Their Works

Each March UTRGV Special Collections & Archives recognizes the historical contributions and achievements of the women to the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. This year we are focusing on women writers and poets and highlighting their works.

This exhibit examines the early societal challenges women overcame to contribute to American literature, spotlights the historical work of the Valley By-Liners, honors the foundational contributions of Chicana writers, and calls attention to diversity in publishing, especially among children's authors.
